Have a newborn or preschool-age child?

We are committed to providing loving childcare for families with young children who are not able to sit through the Sunday service. Our nurseries are warm, nurturing places where children, parents and visitors alike are welcomed and well cared-for. The nursery is often not only our visitors’ first impression of our church but our children’s first impression of what church is like as well. To meet this need, we have four classes:

• Nursery (Newborn—17 months)
• Tiny Treasures (18 months—36 months)
• Bible Buddies (3 year olds)*
• King’s Kids (Pre-Kindergarten)*

How Does It Work?

The Nursery and Tiny Treasures are staffed by volunteers who serve about once every couple of months. There are at least three volunteers in each room at all times. Duties involve playing with or holding the young children; communicating with the Team Leader and other volunteers and parents; and clean-up at the end of the service.

How Do I Volunteer?

Write “Nursery Volunteer” on your Welcome Card along with your name, address, phone number, and how long you have been attending FBC and turn it in to the Welcome Desk. Normally, all volunteers who work with children must have attended FBC for six months. All volunteers must also complete a back- ground check and online safety training.

Have a child in elementary school?

FBC’s Sunday School program is committed to supporting and supplementing families’ efforts to train up their children in God’s Word. Sunday School starts each week with a children’s worship time. Children then head to their age appropriate classes for Bible study, Scripture memorization, games and other activities. Our teachers use a curriculum from the Gospel Project (click here to open their website in a new window) to teach children 3 years of age and older. At about 11am the children join their parents in the main auditorium for family worship time.

Why Do We Do This?

It is important for children to find out that their spiritual family is wider than their own household. Often they connect with God’s truth in new ways when they hear it from someone other than mom or dad. Our hope is to provide 12 months of Sunday School where we partner with parents to ground each child for life. Our goal is to provide meaningful songs that can help a young heart worship. We want each kid to go away encouraged and very glad to be part of “his” or “her” church.

Sunday School Classes:

• Explorers (Kindergarten)
• Heroes (Grade 1)
• Adventurers (Grade 2)
• Champions (Grade 3)
• Warriors (Grades 4 & 5)

How Do I Enroll My Child?

Just introduce your child to one of the FBC Greeters at the front door on any Sunday morning at 9:40am. They will show you where the children’s worship time is taking place and help you find the right classroom for your child.

Do You Need More Teachers?

We are always looking for dedicated people who can teach or help a teacher. We also have opportunities for people to serve by helping with children’s worship or providing snacks. Your commitment can be short-term or long- term. Please contact us to find out more.

*Bible Buddies & King’s Kids are structured more like a Sunday School class with teachers committed to 2 weeks at a time a couple times during the year. These classes are for ages 3-5 years old or until the children graduate to the kindergarten class. Children must be potty trained.
